FAQs

What is non-medical home care?

As an alternative to staying in a nursing facility or having a family member provide assistance, many families choose to receive “non-medical home care” services that allow their loved one to maintain their independence while remaining in the comfort of their own home and receive the one-on-one care they need from an experienced caregiver.

What services can Qualified Caregivers provide in the home?

Our Qualified Caregivers can assist your loved one with all aspects of non-medical home care, including assistance with bathing, restroom activities, personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, walking, light housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, medication management, transportation and companionship. All of our Qualified Caregivers are experienced, are CPR-certified, can monitor your loved one’s vital signs and can track their food and liquid input/output.

Why should I hire 123 Home Care to care for my loved one rather than find a caregiver on my own?

Ease and Peace of Mind:

We understand how important it is to select the right home care provider to care for your loved one. We also understand there are a lot of questions:

  • How do I go about finding a caregiver?
  • How do I ensure that the caregiver is qualified?
  • How do I safeguard against placing a caregiver with prior legal offenses in my loved one’s home?
  • What happens if the caregiver is injured in my home? Who pays their medical bill?
  • How do I know if I’m withholding the appropriate federal and state taxes?
  • What happens if the caregiver doesn’t show up when my loved one needs them?
  • How many caregivers will I have to interview before I find the right match for my loved one?

These are some questions that our clients typically ask when they are searching for the appropriate home care option. We appreciate how daunting and difficult it can be to evaluate the available care options, especially if you have never searched for home care assistance before. We make the process of receiving high-quality home care as easy and convenient as possible!

Quality Assurance:

For example, our proprietary “Family Portal” allows your family to stay informed with up to the minute updates on the care your loved one is receiving.

Bonded and Insured Qualified Caregivers:

What is the minimum number of hours of service?

Unlike most other in-home care agencies that require clients to agree to a minimum number of hours per day (often 4+ hours, even they don’t need it), we do not have a minimum hourly requirement.

What if I need to cancel a shift? Will I pay a cancellation penalty?

With 123 Home Care you don’t sign a contract; you sign an agreement. You can cancel our services at any time and for any reason without any penalties. Most agencies require 24-48 hours’ advance notice to cancel without being charged for the entire shift, even if you don’t use their services! We understand life is busy and unpredictable, which means you may need to cancel a shift at the last minute – with 123 Home Care, you won’t pay any cancellation penalties!

How do you supervise your Qualified Caregivers?

GPS/Telephony “Clock-In and –Out”

Our state-of-the-art software allows our Qualified Caregivers to “clock-in and -out” for shifts by GPS or telephone, which gives us the ability to proactively ensure that they arrive to your loved one’s home on-time, as scheduled to provide quality care as promised. Our system notifies us within minutes in the event a Qualified Caregiver is delayed, which allows us to promptly address your service needs in real-time.
